Remedy Communications Helps Found Mobile Marketing Association Canada Council

Remedy Communications is proud to announce their role as a founding member of the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) Canada Council. The MMA is the world’s leading non-profit trade association for mobile marketing and related technologies.

The launch of the MMA Canada Council was announced during the CTIA Wireless 2010 conference held March 22-25 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The MMA Canada Council will help establish guidelines and best practices for the Canadian mobile market.

Doug Thompson, Remedy CEO, commented that “Remedy’s founding member status with the MMA Canada Council represents our commitment to mobile media as a key capability for our company. In addition to our recent approval as an iPad developer, this announcement speaks to our ability to bring community, clinical care, information and marketing to the front lines of the health and related industries.”

As noted in the MMA Canada press release:

“The launch of our MMA Canada Council is a reflection of the continued growth of mobile marketing and demands for localized focus,” said Federico Pisani Massamormile, MMA’s Global Chairman. “In the past few years, the MMA has been able to build a global organization removing barriers to market development allowing for our members to meet regional needs. Canada represents a significant market for mobile and a growing membership base. The MMA is pleased to have a formal presence in the country.”

“Mobile as well as social and immersive media are important capabilities that allow Remedy to address the changing media landscape and opportunities arising because of newer technologies,” said Michael Keefe, Director of Mobile, Social and Immersive Media at Remedy. “Where we shine is in creating solutions to address the most challenging client and industry issues. These media, and our founding member status and position on the MMA Steering Committee allow us to have a robust tool kit to address these global challenges.”

The launch is part of efforts to establish a regional presence with a local focus across the globe, and is led by Michael O’Farrell, Country Manager for the MMA. The Canadian chapter includes over 25 members, including Remedy Communications, MolsonCoors, comScore and LavaLife.
